Ebill deadline countdown: submit account number, cell phone number and email address
12 November 2025
After 31 December 2025, the City will stop sending bills by post and will only issue accounts via email. To ensure continued service, customers are encouraged to send their account number, contact number and email address to the City via email or SMS. Those who do not have an email address should contact the City’s Call Centre at 0860 103 089 for assistance.
‘Almost 517 000 Capetonians have already switched to emailed accounts and we have about 200 000 to go. The City is sending direct communication to those who we still need to assist to make the switch. We’re urging all customers to register as soon as possible, as the City will stop sending accounts by post after 31 December 2025.
‘Deadlines often come up faster than expected, so we encourage residents to act now. Simply email or SMS your account number, contact number and email address. It’s a quick and easy process that ensures your account is delivered straight to your inbox. For those without email addresses, assistance is available. Please contact the City’s Call Centre on 0860 103 089,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
